JConcepts P2 - Tekno NB48 2.2 Buggy Body, lightweight
The JConcepts team recently tested a new body shell for the 1:8th buggy class at LCRC Raceway. In the hands of Ryan Maifield, the P2 body shell demonstrated impressive performance on the Tekno buggy. Inspired by the World Championship-winning body used by Spencer Rivkin in 2019, the P2 incorporates design elements from JConcepts' history, including a tall stabilizing fin first experimented with in 2010.
For a fresh season of competition, JConcepts added a mini fin behind the cab that avoids interfering with the engine head. The rear ramping feature, a hallmark of the P2, adds stability and aerodynamic force. At the front, the wide, powerful cab design of the Punisher series gives the P2 excellent cornering speed. The reinforced cab top and fin stabilizer enhance control, while the chamfered side pods and multi-angle winglets provide optimal clearance and aerodynamics.
The windshield features a recessed design with railing for additional support, and the deflection shield at the front enhances aerodynamics. The large windows, a nod to 1990s RC racing, provide a low-profile look while maintaining a dominant track presence. Behind the cab, the open design around the engine heatsink alleviates hot air buildup and improves performance.
Made of clear polycarbonate with protective film, the body is available in standard and lightweight thicknesses. Designed and manufactured in the U.S.A., the P2 reflects JConcepts' dedication to quality and innovation. Look for authentic products from reputable dealers and distributors.
